RNC chair Ronna McDaniels predicts ‘surge’ of Trump voters on Election Day

Ronna McDaniels, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, predicted that President Trump’s supporters will turn out to vote in person on Election Day and wipe out any advantage Joe Biden has with Democrats from early voting.

Saying she agrees that the coronavirus pandemic has affected turnout, McDaniels said, “We feel very strongly that we have a surge coming out Election Day.”

“We’ve also built the best ground game in history with 2.5 million volunteers and 3,000 staff on the ground. And we are contacting the voters right now all weekend for the next few days to make sure they turn out to vote,” McDaniels said on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.”

“The margins are going to be based on that election day turnout. Republicans will have a surge that day. We’re going to have that and that’s why we’re going to win,” she said.

More than 92 million voters have already cast ballots by mail or by absentee ballots — more than 67 percent of the total votes cast in 2016.
